Peer Supervision Groups
ASPP's Peer Supervision Groups are up and running!

Our clinical work is often isolating and, after our formal training is completed, we often do not seek regular consultations or supervision. With this in mind, ASPP is now organizing Peer Supervision Groups for ASPP members. We will connect participants with each other and offer some basic guidelines for running these groups successfully.

Please email ASPPpeersup@gmail.com if you are interested in participating or would like more information.

Whats, Whys and Hows of
ASPP Peer Supervision Groups

WHAT?
A peer supervision group is a structured professional meeting in which a small group of therapists come together regularly to discuss their clinical work, share challenges, and provide mutual support and feedback. Peer supervision groups maintain patient confidentiality while allowing professional discussion.
WHY?
Peer supervision groups are an important part of professional development. They provide an opportunity to discuss complex cases and receive multiple perspectives and provide an opportunity to reduce professional isolation and help normalize the challenges of therapeutic work. Peer supervision groups are particularly valuable because they combine the benefits of professional consultation with the support of colleagues who understand the unique stresses and challenges of our work.
HOW?
You can join (or ask any questions about) an ASPP-organized peer supervision group by emailing our Peer Supervision Group Chairperson at aspppeersup@gmail.com. You will be connected to an ongoing or new group.
ALL newly formed groups will receive some basic guidelines to make their group successful.
All we ask is that you are or become a current ASPP member.
